Benjamin was born in Vancouver and has lived in both Victoria and Vancouver, as well as the United States.
He studied history at the University of British Columbia, where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree. He graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in Washington State (J.D.) in 2010. After he was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 2010, he returned to the University of British Columbia and completed his Masters of Laws degree (LL.M) in 2012. He was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2013.
Benjamin is currently licensed to practice law in both British Columbia and Washington State.
He has appeared in the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Federal Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Benjamin speaks both English and Cantonese fluently. He also enjoys cooking for his family in his spare time.
